Totowa Water Damage Needs Some Controlled Demo for Recovery
This Totowa room had water damage that leaked into a bedroom closet from an adjoining room with unsealed cinderblock walls, since cinderblock is porous it takes on water easily. The techs used moisture detection equipment to determine the extent that water wicked into the sheetrock in the closet and cut above the waterline using flood cuts to halt any further damage. The technicians also removed the baseboards in the bedroom, These actions opened up the wall cavity between the rooms for complete drying and make repairs to the sheetrock easy to accomplish. Fortunately for the homeowner, moisture did not breach the tile floor and there was no danger of delamination.
