Excessive Moisture Caused Formation of Mold on Wooden Ceiling Joists, North Haledon, NJ
After visible surface mold began forming on interior doors, sheet rock, and molding in this town home’s finished basement, SERVPRO of Wayne was called in to perform the remediation work once the mold source was found, and eliminated.
In this case a long-term water softener leak caused significant moisture damage throughout the finished basement. The project required some demo work, and an entire basement mold elimination/cleaning and sanitization of the affected structural surfaces. During initial demo work, visible mold was also found hidden behind the sheet rock walls and ceilings. This photo shows how mold also formed on the basement’s underlying wooden ceiling joists, which was caused by the excessive moisture.
During the cleaning process dehumidifiers were used to dry-out the space, along with anti-microbial agents, and negative air fans/air scrubbers. In addition to the Mold Remediation, SERVPRO of Wayne also provided this homeowner with all of the Rebuild Services.
